James 2:18 Ministries started in May of 2006 with a bread distribution in the parking lots of libraries in the Kansas City area.

Eventually the ministry progressed to giving clothes and food to the needy out of the home of its founder Shelle Frelo. Before long Shelle's home was overrun with food and clothes it was at that point that she realized she would need to branch out and move from her home to a building.

In 2008 she moved her helps ministry to her office at her workplace. In May of 2008 she was laid off from her workplace due to budget cuts. Shelle thought that her helps ministry had come to an end.

However, in July of 2008 an old friend from work called and asked if she knew of any organizations that could help a family devastated by a fire. She spent the entire day finding resources for the family.

God revealed to Shelle almost immediately james218ministries could continue helping those in need by locating the resources and connecting those resources with those that are in need of them..

Shelle is still praying and believing that God will provide a building in His timing for which the ministry can better serve the individuals that God brings across our path its path.
